What is a Jaycar Nerd Perks Card?

Nerd Perks Club is a loyalty program open to all customers who purchase regularly from Jaycar Electronics company owned stores in Australia and New Zealand including the Australian and New Zealand online stores. Purchases accumulate points ($1 = 1 Point). When these points meet or exceed the minimum threshold (500 points) a Gift Card (called Jaycoins) will be automatically issued for you to spend in store (Jaycar Company stores) or through the Techstore in Australia on 1800 022 888 or New Zealand on 0800 452 922.

Membership

• Customers are required to have a valid residential address in Australia or New Zealand and a valid email address.
• Limit of one card per person.
• Applications for membership can be completed online or in-store (in store signup will be available from early October)
• It is the customer’s responsibility to maintain an updated delivery address via their unique account on the Jaycar Electronics websites or by contacting Jaycar Electronics in Australia on 1800 022 888 or New Zealand on 0800 452 922. Jaycar Electronics is not responsible for any correspondence or cards sent to an incorrect address.

Earning Points

• Points can only be obtained from purchases at Jaycar Electronics company owned stores in the country the membership was issued; either Australia or New Zealand, or via the Jaycar online stores at www.jaycar.com.au or www.jaycar.co.nz
• Points may be excluded for special events, this will be clearly displayed at such times.
• Points cannot be obtained from Jaycar authorised stockists.
• Earn 1 point for every $1 spent in each transaction (in the currency of the store).
• Nerd Perks card must be presented to staff before the transaction has been completed.
• Nerd Perks card cannot be used in conjunction with any other Jaycar Group Club Card (e.g. Trade Card) or with purchases using a Jaycar credit account.
• Points are not transferable to another individual.
• Prior purchases cannot be applied to the Nerd Perks card.
• All points have an 18 month expiry from the time of purchase. Expired points will be removed from the customer’s points balance.

Redemption of Points

Once your Nerd Perks Club Card accumulates 500 points a Jaycoins gift card valued at $25.00# will be posted to the registered mailing address^ of your Nerd Perks Club Card. At the time the Jaycoins Gift Card is issued, the customer’s points balance will be reduced by 500 points for each $25.00# Jaycoins gift card.

The Jaycoins gift cards can then be used to purchase goods at any Jaycar Electronics company owned store within the country on the registered mailing address only; either Australia or New Zealand or through the Techstore in Australia on 1800 022 888 or New Zealand on 0800 452 922. The Jaycoins gift card cannot be redeemed for cash.

If the customer processes a refund AFTER having a Jaycoins gift card issued the balance on their Nerd Perks Club Card will be negative.

It is the customer’s responsibility to maintain an up to date delivery address via their unique account on the Jaycar Electronics websites or by contacting Jaycar Electronics on: Australia 1800 022 888 or New Zealand 0800 452 922. Jaycar Electronics will not be held responsible for any correspondence or cards that are sent to an incorrect address.

Using My Jaycoins Gift Card

• All Jaycoins gift cards are valid for use for 6 months from the date they are issued. After this period any unused Jaycoins gift cards will expire and not be able to be used for purchase of goods.
• You don’t have to spend the total amount on the Jaycoins gift card in one transaction. Any amount left on the Jaycoins gift card after a single transaction maybe used to purchase subsequent goods until the total amount is spent or the Jaycoins gift card expires i.e. 6 months from date of issue.
• What happens if I want to make a purchase for an amount that exceeds the value/balance on my Jaycoins gift card? If the purchase is greater than the value of the gift card, the entire balance of the gift card will be subtracted and the customer will be asked to provide another form of payment (cash, EFTPOS, credit card etc.) to make up the difference.
• Returning items for refund that were purchased on a Jaycoins gift card will have the amount of the refund. Please talk to staff in any Jaycar Electronics company owned store or through our Techstore in Australia on 1800 022 888 or New Zealand on 0800 452 922.
• The balance on your Jaycoins gift card can be checked in any Jaycar Electronics company owned store or through our Techstore in Australia on 1800 022 888 or New Zealand on 0800 452 922.

Checking Points Balance

Three quick and easy ways to check the points balance on your Nerd Perks Card:

• Ask one of our friendly sales staff in your local Jaycar Electronics company owned store
• Contact our call centre: Australia 1800 022 888 or New Zealand 0800 452 922
• Login to your online account click profile then clicke "Check My Points" button

Re-issue of Faulty, Damaged or Stolen Cards

• In the event that a Nerd Perks Card is damaged and the barcode will no longer scan, a new card can be applied for and sent out. The points balance from the old damaged card will still remain on the customer’s account balance.
• If a Jaycar Nerd Perks card is damaged Jaycar Electronics staff can enter this manually at the Point of Sale.
• In the event that a Jaycar Nerd Perks Card is lost or stolen, a replacement card can be applied for and issued. Applying for a replacement card can be completed:

Jaycar Jaycoins Gift Card

• If a Jaycoins Gift Card is damaged Jaycar Electronics staff can enter this manually at the Point of Sale.
• If a Jaycoins Gift Card is lost or stolen Jaycar Electronics will not replace it under any circumstances. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure they are not lost or stolen. Treat these cards like real cash!
• If it is proven that a manufacturing defect prevents the card from being used then a replacement card can be issued.

Alterations to the Nerd Perks Program Program

• Jaycar Electronics Pty Limited reserves the right, with notice of 30 days, to make changes to the operation of the Jaycar Nerd Perks club, to cancel any Jaycoins cards or Nerd Perks card accumulated points.
